Frequently asked questions.
Are you a licensed massage therapist?
Yes. I’m licensed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. My Texas Massage Therapist License number is 134137. I am an insured member of Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals.
To be eligible to receive a license in the State of Texas, all applicants must complete a minimum of 500 hours in an approved Massage school, pass the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEX), and the State jurisprudence exam. Massage therapy applicants must be fingerprinted for a national criminal history background check. In addition, applicants must complete Human Trafficking Prevention Training.
Licensed Massage Therapists complete 12 hours of continuing education to renew their Texas license every two years.
What if I am late arriving to my appointment?
If you arrive late, your session will be shortened in order to accommodate the following scheduled clients. For example, if you arrive 20 minutes late to your 1 hour massage therapy appointment, you will receive 40 minute massage therapy. Full payment for your scheduled service will be expected.
What should I do if I need to cancel my appointment?
If you booked your appointment online and need to cancel or reschedule, please follow the appointment confirmation link in your email to make any changes. For the same day or late notice cancellations, please contact (972) 955-9355 as soon as possible.
Your appointment time has been set aside specifically for you. Please give me at least 24 hour notice to better serve all my clients’ needs. I do not charge for cancellations at this time.
Do you accept walk-in appointments?
No, by appointment only.
Are same day appointments available?
In case of cancellations, same day appointments may be available sometimes.
You may contact (972) 955-9355 to check on same-day availability. If I’m in a session and unable to answer, my reply will be delayed.
What is your clothing policy?
You may undress to your comfort level. I maintain a professional draping (covered in sheet) throughout the session.
Can I talk during my therapy?
Please limit talking during your session to what is relevant to the massage therapy. A light talking in the beginning of the massage therapy may help some people relax, but the more you let go and quiet the mind, the more effective and healing the therapy will be for your body.
Your massage therapy time is YOUR time.
What should I do if something needs to be modified?
It’s important that you be as comfortable as possible during your massage, so please feel free to give me any feedback regarding the amount of pressure, any discomfort, room temperature, music or lighting.
My treatment method does NOT include deep painful digging. Too much pressure can cause the muscles to tighten further and detract from the effectiveness of massage therapy.
Do you offer couples massage therapy?
No, I’m unable to book double/synchronized massage therapy at this time. However, you may book back to back appointment times so you can take turns waiting.
Do you provide massage therapy to minors?
Yes. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian and remain in the same room the entire time. Parent/guardian need to sign a minor consent form.
Do you travel to offer at-home massage therapy?
No. Your appointment will take place in my office located at 4320 Spring Valley Road, Dallas, Texas 75244.
What kind of oil/lotion do you use?
I use a combination of unscented lotion, jojoba and sesame oils.
I do not use any essential oils in consideration of clients who may have adverse reaction. You are welcome to bring your own favorite oil or lotion - as long as it is unscented or very lightly scented.
What if I fall asleep and snore or drool?
It’s very common, do not worry. You are in a safe environment and in good hands.
What if I have body acne, skin conditions, or forgot to shave?
If you have local rashes, warts or unhealed wounds, please let me know so I can avoid the contraindicated areas to prevent infection and/or further spreading.
Other topics such as unshaved legs/armpits or acne are nothing to be uncomfortable or embarrassed about. You are here for relaxing, balancing and healing in an unjudgmental and professional office.
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept cash, check or credit cards.
Credit card receipts can be sent to your cell phone or email.
Should I come in if I have a cold or flu-like symptoms?
Please cancel or reschedule if you are feeling unwell. A massage will worsen your symptoms and risk passing it on to others.
